Rex Amarrillo

Rex Amarillo began his martial arts journey in 2005 in Salinas, California, training in Tabimina Balintawak under Master Jojo Ygay, where he quickly distinguished himself through dedication and skill. His progression led him to be personally evaluated by Great Grandmaster Bobby Tabimina, who recognized his potential and selected him as a Certified Feeder—an honor reflecting both trust and technical proficiency.

 

As a member of the first generation of students to establish the inaugural Tabimina Balintawak group in the United States, Rex played a pivotal role in helping grow the art, assisting in instruction, student development, and community building. Beyond the training floor, he brought a creative edge as a graphic artist and videographer, shaping the visual identity of Tabimina Balintawak and contributing to its global reach through digital media.

 

Continuing his evolution, Rex trained under Grandmaster Flint Tabimina, ultimately earning the responsibility of serving as the Las Vegas Chapter Head. Despite more than two decades of immersion in the art, he remains grounded in the mindset of a lifelong student, embodying the philosophy that mastery in Tabimina Balintawak is a continuous and infinite pursuit.
