Josh Walker

Josh Walker began training in Balintawak after attending a seminar with GM Bob Tabimina and Master Jojo Ygay in San Francisco in November, 2008.  At that time, Josh chose to embrace Balintawak as his primary art.  Between 2009 and 2019, Josh made annual trips to the Philippines for extensive training with Sir Bob, Flint, and Dag Tabimina, while also training with Chad Tabimina and Jojo Ygay in the US.  In 2015, Josh was appointed as the Central US Chapter Head in Tabimina Balintawak.

Exercising his passion and personal understanding of the art, Josh proliferated Balintawak through the US, training students and creating instructors that now, or have had, groups in Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Missouri, New Jersey, Toronto, Europe, and Colombia.

In addition to Balintawak, Josh trained, and has taught, arts such as Jeet Kune Do, Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, Iron Palm, and Jook Lum Praying Mantis. Josh is a certified Personal Trainer with substantial time in the Health and Fitness industry, focusing on strength conditioning and athletic performance; he  is one of the premier US authorities on dit da (herbal remedies for injury management), through which he founded PlumDragon Herbs.  Josh also spent 6 years in the US Air Force, as part of a World War III contingency squadron, where he has spent significant time interfacing with individuals with PTSD.
